Dr. Wade Nielson PT, DPT, OCS joined the Central Valley Medical Center
Outpatient Physical Therapy team in 2017 after practicing as a general
Physical Therapist for two years in Kanab, Utah. He graduated with honors
from Southern Utah University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology
and received his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree in 2015 from
Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. In recognition of his
clinical performance as a student through his doctoral program, he earned
the "Clinical Excellence Award” of his graduating class.
As a high school and division one collegiate Track and Field athlete, he
developed an interest in how the human body responds to specific training
and rehabilitation. He makes it his priority to ensure each patient understands
their customized treatment plan and he enjoys helping each patient reach
their full potential.
Dr. Nielson has a special interest in outpatient orthopedics including
muscle, joint, and spine pain, and sports and running rehabilitation.
He is recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists
as a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), which specialty
designation is earned by less than 10% of Physical Therapists in the state
of Utah. He is also a certified Running Gait Analyst through RunDNA with
an emphasis in running readiness, running enhancement, injury prevention,
and slow-motion video analysis.
He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Utah Physical
Therapy Association, and the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy
Dr. Nielson grew up in Nephi and is excited to be practicing physical therapy
in his hometown. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife
and children, exploring the outdoors, serving in his church and community,
and being active in athletics.
