Pain Management
Treatments & Techniques to Ease Chronic Pain
Pain is a common side effect of illness and post-surgery recovery. Many
times, pain will go away on its own within a few days, but there are occasions
where the pain can be so intense or last so long that intervention is required.
Central Valley Medical Center’s welcomes Dr. Mosley with Southwest
Spine and Pain Center and their pain management program. Dr. Mosely provides
patients with various techniques and treatments aimed at relieving pain.
Each patient’s experience in pain management is different, as every
program is individualized based on the specific needs of the patient.
One of the first steps in creating a pain management plan is determining
what’s causing the pain. Patients with cancer, arthritis, ulcers,
nerve damage, and other chronic conditions can often benefit from pain
management.

Treatments for Pain
Pain management takes many forms. For some patients, a combination of diet
and exercise may be all that’s required, whereas other patients
may need stress counseling to help them relax and heal. Our team works
closely with patients, taking the time to learn more about them and their
condition in order to determine the best possible pain management plan.
Your Pain management program may involve a combination of the following:
- Diet building
- Learning new exercises to strengthen weakened muscles
- Physical therapy
- Medications
- Nerve blocks
- Stress management techniques
Pain management is a continuous process, requiring several visits with
your pain management team. This can be difficult on patients who live
far away from their hospital or clinic. Though we are a rural area hospital,
Central Valley Medical Center has many services that are normally exclusive
to city hospitals. We are proud to offer a close to home resource for
pain management in the Central Utah Valley area.
