Pharmacy
Inpatient & Community Pharmacy Services
Both the community pharmacy and In-patient pharmacy embrace Central Valley
Medical Center’s mission to provide sensitive, compassionate health
care of the highest quality to all patients. Our goal is to provide excellent
customer service and make the prescription process more convenient.
Inpatient Pharmacy
The Pharmacy department is responsible for purchasing, storage, preparation,
control, safety, and distribution of medications within Central Valley
Medical Center. As part of our commitment to deliver high-quality healthcare,
our department participates in quality improvement activities. One such
activity was the planning and implementation of Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA).
This system dramatically improves patient safety by requiring barcode scanning
of medications prior to administration. BCMA benefits include accurate
patient billing and the efficient use of resources while being environmentally
friendly. BCMA is just one of many progressive programs we employ to improve
patient care and assure the appropriateness of drug therapy and services provided.
Community Pharmacy
The community pharmacy accepts new prescriptions from all health care providers
and will gladly transfer existing prescriptions from other pharmacies.
The pharmacy also features a drive-thru window and accepts most insurances.
As a member of Good Neighbor Pharmacy, Central Valley Community Pharmacy
is able to offer quality products and services – at prices that
are competitive with the big national chains.
Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME):
Central Valley Community Pharmacy offers services for ongoing diabetes
monitoring and education. They assist patients with procuring affordable
supplies to manage their diabetes. This program is free of charge and
the majority of patients involved in these services have shown improvement
in managing their diabetes. For more information on the diabetes self
management education please contact Central Valley Community Pharmacy.
